Some interesting finds of website opening pages, not nessacarily animated but still striking,




Disburse

One of my words is Disburse, here is my first attempt at using After Effects using typography. The word 'disburse' to me makes me think of Dandelion seeds (the silver fluffy) bits being blown about and scattering, so I wanted to make this look at light at possible, although this is all solid so perhaps an experiment with opacity would aid this visual better.

Kinetic type

Like everyone else, my research has led me to the copious amounts of typography (kinetic) examples on the wonder that is Youtube, here a few of my favourites.



Not just a favourite word of mine, the emphasis on the speakers use and breakdown of the word "Fuck" is well shown within the video.




Current brief

To learn the basics of After Effects, we have had to choose three words and using what current knowledge we know of AE create a 10-second silent animation using typography to represent these words, my chosen words are:

Keeping myself aware of notable digital media around me, or those that catch my eye I found this credit
sequence from the end of 'The Mummy' striking, the use of shadow alongside the background imagery
compliments the hieroglyphical & Egyptian styled type.

What is Digital Media?

The current brief/module is entirely based on digital media and design for digital, this blog will display & focus on my research and development throughout this.  Enjoy.
